About Janilson
I am a language professional, project leader and advocate for culturally informed communication, with more than nine years of experience across translation, interpretation, education, coordination, management, customer service and administrative work.
My work helps organizations communicate accurately across languages and cultures—particularly in healthcare, clinical research, public services and community-facing programmes. I have supported immigrant communities through interpretation for DTA, DCF, EOHHS, DUA and other public-service contexts, while also leading translation, linguistic quality assurance and language-data projects.
As founder of Kabuverdianu Translations, I lead a dedicated team committed to accurate, culturally sensitive and people-centred communication. My wider work includes PROTAGONISTA, an initiative focused on participation, visibility and community development.
Across more than 600 delivered projects, my responsibility has grown beyond language transfer alone. It includes project management, terminology decisions, quality systems, team coordination, stakeholder communication and the responsible use of language technology and AI.
Additional certifications in digital marketing, social media management, website management and content creation support the communication side of my work, but they do not define my professional positioning. The centre of the practice remains language, research, access and innovation.
Working principles
The work must first be understandable, usable and appropriate for its audience.
Results, responsibilities and verified scale are stronger than arbitrary skill percentages.
Professional credibility never requires exposing a client’s documents or private information.
Language, research and technology work best when real human consequences remain visible.
